EMPLOY Forklifit Operators are OSHA-compliant trained to ensure the safe operation of a forklift in the work environment. Forklift operators are certified through the National Safety Council's Coaching The Lift Truck Operator 2 course.
EMPLOY participants can perform some or all of these functions:
- Ability to operate a variety of vehicle(s) used in the workplace
- Identify potential hazards of the workplace
- Follow general safety requirements of OSHA standards
- Conduct pre- and post-operation safety inspection on sit-down, stand-up and powered pallet trucks
- Proper load placement, allowing for maximum safety and stability
- Understanding of proper driving/manuvering in work site environments
