EMPLOY Computer Application Specialists are trained to provide a range of computer
hardware and software support for a variety of application systems.
EMPLOY participants can perform some or all of these functions:
- Set-up computer systems
- Train and assist personnel to use the computer system
- Computer support assisting with computer problems
- Field phone calls or e-mails regarding difficulty with a particular piece of computer hardware or software
- Provide support to the information processing department of a company
- Monitor programs to ensure they are installed properly and are compatible with existing programs
- Evaluate computer systems to determine if they need to be expanded or upgraded
- Modify software to meet the needs of the company
